TÉT CAKE WITH FLATTENED YOUNG RICE
This is a traditional and signature dish of the Khmer people in Trà Vinh. The ingredients are flattened young rice, mung bean, sugar, shaved coconut, vanilla extract, and clean banana leaves to wrap the cake. Unlike to the common tét cake, this is cooked by steam so that the young rice would expand naturally and not change the shape of the cake. Once the wrap is removed, we can smell the aroma of young rice, buttery from coconut milk and mung bean. It can be eaten for breakfast, instead of rice or as a desert.
